First let-s talk about websites. A website is a foundation for applications. If there is no website there would be no applications. A website has the ability to hold several web pages, blogs, galleries, video files, sounds and animations. Also a website is the front interface of a business. It is public and contains a lot of information. The main purpose of a website is the provide people with information and advertise something such as a product or service.
An application, on the other hand, has a specific task or function. It serves a specific purpose such as organizing data, syncing data from a website etc. They are basically an enhanced extension of a website that focuses on something specific.
Overall, websites and applications go hand in hand. Without one we could not have the other. Imagine all the information we would miss out on if websites and applications did not exists? We would be disorganized and uninformed. At this point in technology people love their apps and how they can be accessed from almost anywhere. Without the foundation of a website these apps would be nonexistent. There are major differences between the two but they also have many similarities.
